July 30, 2018 – Press Releases

Deepening its roster of attorneys in Pittsburgh, Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to welcome Rick L. Etter as a partner in the firm’s labor and employment practice.

“We’re thrilled that Rick has chosen to join Fox. Continuing to grow our team in Pittsburgh, and broadening and strengthening the scope of our services, are consistent with our strategic plan,” said Jay D. Marinstein, Fox’s Pittsburgh Office Managing Partner. “Rick brings a wealth of experience and a solid record of successful outcomes, including in wage hour class actions, that will benefit our clients. His pragmatic and business-focused approach strengthen both our nationwide employment team and our regional offerings in Pittsburgh.”

Etter has extensive experience litigating cases in state and federal courts and representing clients before the U.S. Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and numerous other government agencies. He is particularly fluent in handling wage and hour issues, discrimination claims and non-compete and trade secrets matters.

Providing strategic counsel on litigation prevention and best practices for employers are also key components of Etter’s practice. He frequently works closely with in-house counsel and senior management to evaluate a company’s business, culture and needs to help identify potential risks and offers practical advice and forward-looking solutions. Etter is often asked to speak about these ever-evolving issues to clients, industry groups, trade associations and human resources organizations.

Etter is a member of the United Way Bridges Society, a network of young professionals who organize volunteer events that will benefit the community, as well as several bar associations, including the Allegheny County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association and Pennsylvania Bar Association. He is also a contributing author of the The Fair Labor Standards Act, a treatise on wage and hour law issues published by the ABA of Labor and Employment Law Section.

Named to a list of “Lawyers on the Fast Track” by The Legal Intelligencer and Pennsylvania Law Weekly in 2017, Etter earned a J.D. from Cornell Law School in 2004 and graduated magna cum laude from Shippensburg University in 2001.

Prior to joining Fox, Etter was a partner at Frost Brown Todd LLC and Reed Smith LLP.
