Crain’s Chicago Business Names Jeffrey Widman Among 2019 Notable Gen X Leaders in Law

June 3, 2019 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Jeffrey L. Widman, who is listed among the 2019 Notable Gen X Leaders in Law by Crain’s Chicago Business.

The 2019 class of Gen X Leaders in Law is comprised of 121 of the top practitioners in the Chicago region who handle matters in intellectual property, corporate restructuring and class-action defense.

As managing partner of Fox’s Chicago office, Widman steers business development and office expansion efforts in addition to his own complex commercial litigation and bankruptcy practice. Widman represents Fortune 500 companies, printing companies, cable operators, venture capital firms, automobile dealers, manufacturers, retailers and hotels in a wide range of business disputes. He recently helped block the majority members of a limited liability company from selling a multimillion-dollar business by convincing the court that the sale would violate the company’s operating agreement to the detriment of his clients, the minority members. In another case, Widman helped collect millions in owed compensation on behalf of mortgage broker executives, while gaining relief from faulty noncompete agreements.

Widman is a decade-long donor to Chicago’s Mercy Home for Boys and Girls and, as a board member on the American Heart Association’s Counsel for a Cause in Chicago, he leads major fundraising efforts to raise awareness of heart disease.

He earned his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and his A.B. from the University of Michigan.
