Biography

Laura's multi-state family law and fashion law practice focuses on providing solution-oriented guidance for a range of business and personal, family-related issues. Clients value Laura's keen problem-solving and communication skills, trusting her to help them resolve conflicts and provide sophisticated, sensitive advice on decisions that will affect their personal and business lives for years to come.

Certified as a Family Law Specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, she offers pragmatic and nuanced counsel that meshes with her compassionate approach to guiding clients through emotionally draining circumstances. Laura assists clients with complex, high-net-worth divorces and litigation in all areas of family law. Laura aggressively advocates for her clients in the courtroom but also realizes that fighting the “nuclear war” in court is not always the best solution for the long-term benefit of the family. She is trained in collaborative law and offers services as a parenting coordinator to help families find solutions for high conflict problems. Laura has a depth of experience helping clients craft complex, specialized parenting plans and possession schedules for professional, career-oriented parents whose lives and children’s lives do not fit into the cookie-cutter molds of standard possession arrangements.

In fashion law, Laura strategically guides businesses in the fashion, jewelry and cosmetics industries from startups to global brands. She is skilled at crafting plans for fashion brands to succeed at all levels from business formation decisions and funding issues to protecting intellectual property rights and negotiating branding and licensing  agreements. As an experienced litigator in multiple state and federal courts, Laura advocates for business clients in litigating contract disputes, trademark or trade dress infringement, and copyright infringement cases. Laura has a particular interest in helping businesses in the fashion industry develop and implement sustainability measures to reduce their carbon footprint from the early stage of design development to product manufacturing and supply chain issues.

Laura’s multiple bar licenses allow her to handle multi-jurisdictional business and family law matters in Texas, Arizona, Georgia and Florida.
