Marc is a member of the litigation team practicing in the firm's Raleigh office. He advises and represents clients in state and federal court in a diverse range of litigation matters, including transportation, business disputes, insurance coverage, catastrophic injury and fatality matters.
Marc works with clients to address problems and to develop strategies to prevent, manage and resolve disputes. He focuses his practice on the defense of catastrophic trucking accidents and the representation of transportation companies. Additionally, he advises motor carriers and freight brokers concerning risk management, business structure and organization, DOT audits and notices of claims, regulatory compliance and various other issues that confront companies in the transportation industry.
As a member of the firm’s 24/7 transportation emergency response team, Marc coordinates responses to catastrophic accident scenes and mobilizes a variety of experts to an accident scene to immediately preserve evidence and start building a defense. He also regularly presents seminars to transportation industry clients on safety issues, best practices and conducting accident response investigations.
He is actively involved in numerous transportation industry organizations and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Trucking Association.
In addition, Marc is an active member of the firm's Privacy & Data Security Practice. He assists clients with the management and protection of sensitive personal and business data. Additionally, he advises clients in identifying, evaluating and managing first- and third-party data privacy and security risks under ever-changing federal and state laws. In the context of data breach and cyber preparedness, Marc works to help ensure a client’s policies, procedures and cyber crisis response plans are appropriate. He also regularly assists clients that do not have breach response plans in place prior to a breach occurrence. Marc is a frequent speaker on data security and data breach response issues.
