Pipeline programs aim to focus on different goals. Some, like the Philadelphia Bar Association, strive for inclusion and diversity in the legal profession. Others focus on children and young adults, targeting students from elementary school to law school.

The Montgomery Bar Association is a pipeline program focused on offering summer internships within Montgomery law firms. Fox partner, Marilou Waston explains, “[t]his is the seventh year of our Robert E. Slota, Jr. 1L Diversity Summer Internship Program. Similar to the PDLG program, we provide participants with summer internships within Montgomery County law firms as well as expose them to different legal career opportunities through our summer speakers’ bureau.”

The MBA also allows high school students to spend a day in court on its annual Day in Court Program, permitting students to observed courtroom proceedings and meet judges, the chief public defender, district attorney members and a representative from law enforcement.
