Nevena Simidjiyska was quoted in The Stamford Advocate article, "China Certifies Sikorsky S-76D Helicopter." Full text can be found in the April 17, 2014, issue, but a synopsis is noted below.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China has granted approval for Sikorsky Aircraft to begin making deliveries of its S-76D helicopters to customers in China.

Noting that U.S. companies are prohibited from selling military products to China, Nevena Simidjiyska said the U.S. Department of Commerce’s validated end user program includes a list of “trusted customers” that U.S. corporations can sell their products to in China.

The validated end user program is essential in order to make the delivery of approved products easier for U.S. companies, said Simidjiyska.

"There's no way our government would allow a military product to be exported to China," she said. "The embargo is not going away."
