A recent opinion in Canter v. Lakewood of Voorhees held that veil-piercing principles may also apply to New Jersey limited partnerships such that liability can be imposed upon limited partners in those entities, making it so limited partners can be liable for acts of the limited partnership.

Jonathan Weiner said the court's ruling "is going to be helpful not just in nursing home negligence cases but in all civil litigation." Weiner, who represents the Health Care Association of New Jersey, submitted an amicus curiae brief supporting veil-piercing.
