January 2, 2019 – Press Releases

For the sixth consecutive year, Darrell D. Miller, chair of the firm’s nationwide Entertainment Law Practice, was highlighted by Variety in its prestigious Dealmakers Impact Report.

The coveted annual list features the top professionals behind Hollywood’s biggest deals in 2018. According to Variety, the Dealmakers Impact Report “fetes the powerbrokers of the entertainment industry” by focusing on those who are “driving the most significant deals in the business.”

Highly respected in the industry, Miller has completed an impressive array of career-defining deals for a remarkably diverse roster of creative artists and producers. They include Angela Bassett’s agreements to star in the upcoming Netflix comedy “Otherhood” and franchise studio film “Bumblebee;” Chris “Ludacris” Bridges’ deals for a lead role in the indie-film “John Henry” and to host and executive produce Viacom’s reboot of “Fear Factor;” as well as Courtney B. Vance’s deal to appear in the upcoming HBO drama “Lovecraft Country,” directed by Jordan Peele.

Miller has also made important deals for up-and-coming-talents such as Tati Gabrielle to star in Netflix’s “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” series, handled a major high-profile renegotiation of Justin Prentice’s deal on Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why” and represented singer-songwriter Jonathan Cain, lead guitarist of the band Journey, on multiple projects.

He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University and his B.F.A. from the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
