Darrell Miller Named to Variety’s 2016 Legal Impact Report

April 12, 2016 – Press Releases

For the third consecutive year, Darrell D. Miller has been recognized in Variety magazine’s prestigious Legal Impact Report for his strategic role in advancing the entertainment industry.

In a year when the lack of diversity in Hollywood and throughout the entertainment industry was in the spotlight, Miller handled a series of career-making deals for his growing list of African American celebrity and executive stars. He was lauded by Variety for these successes, which included striking deals and navigating negotiations for clients to launch TV talk shows and direct, produce and land roles in major motion pictures and Broadway productions.

This renowned annual report comprises the 40 leading attorneys working in film, television, theater and digital media who, over the past year, have had a major influence on entertainment and continue to shape the face and future of the industry. Miller is praised for taking his clients’ careers to new levels of success and helping to forge a new chapter in the entertainment industry’s history.

Miller, who serves as chair of Fox’s nationwide Entertainment Department and office managing partner of the firm’s Los Angeles offices, together with his bicoastal team of entertainment attorneys, has built an extremely successful full-service entertainment law practice representing celebrities, top executives and major corporate clients. He personally transformed the careers of many entertainers and remains a trusted adviser to stars who credit him as a central factor in their enduring success, including Academy Award®-nominated actress Angela Bassett, rapper/actor Chris "Ludacris" Bridges and producer and best-selling author TD Jakes, among others.

Miller has earned numerous accolades for his work with many of Hollywood’s top-tier entertainment professionals. This year, he will be honored by the Beverly Hills Bar Association as 2016 Entertainment Lawyer of the Year for his impact on the field of entertainment law.

As a testament to his effective brand-building strategies, Savoy Magazine recognized him as part of its 2015 Most Influential Black Lawyers List, and the Los Angeles Daily Journal profiled him among California’s top entertainment lawyers in its 2015 Entertainment Law Supplement. Additionally, he was the recipient of the University of Cincinnati’s Kautz Alumni Masters Forum Award. He has also been named a California Super Lawyer for three consecutive years.
