Bill Maruca was recently quoted in “Doctors mull coping strategies; CMS warns against fraud,” which appeared in the December 3, 2007, Part B News.

Maruca offered his insight regarding doctors splitting the performance of certain skin cancer surgical procedures into separate days to avoid new Medicare fee cuts, saying “I think the government would have a rough time making their case... They might be able to call [splitting Mohs surgery and repair] negligence or poor quality care. But they’d have a hard time calling it fraud.”
