Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Edgar Barraza, who joined the Colorado Lawyers Committee Young Lawyers Division board of directors.
The Young Lawyers Division of the Colorado Lawyers Committee, a nonprofit group that provides pro bono legal advocacy to disadvantaged communities, provides an opportunity for law students or lawyers under the age of 40 with fewer than eight years of practice who wish to make a difference in the community to participate in leadership roles. As a member of the board, Barraza will also serve as co-chair of the Division’s Legal Night Team, which organizes events to helps low-resource individuals navigate the legal system.
Dedicated to giving back to his community, Barraza is also the co-founder of Law School - Yes We Can, a program that helps students from underrepresented backgrounds gain access to a law school education, and serves as co-chair of the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association Circle of Giving Committee, which awards academic scholarships to Hispanic students who desire to attend law school. Barraza also collaborated with the Dean of DU Law and student groups to launch the Immigration Law and Policy Clinic, the first of its kind in the state to provide representation for indigent clients in immigration proceedings.
A litigation associate in the firm’s Denver office, Barraza focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and has experience in product liability and financial services matters.
He earned his J.D. and B.A. from the University of Denver.
