Fox Rothschild LLP Hosts Inaugural Firm Diverse Attorney RetreatDecember 3, 2010 – Press Releases
In an effort to promote firm-wide diversity and inclusiveness, Fox Rothschild LLP recently hosted its first-ever “Diverse Attorney Retreat,” uniting partners and associates from many backgrounds throughout the firm’s national network of offices.
The retreat provided firm attorneys with the opportunity to share common experiences and forge connections for the future.
Throughout the day, attorneys participated in interactive group sessions, led by Werten Bellamy, President of Stakeholders, Inc., as well as smaller sessions specifically designed for partners and associates. Kellye L. Walker, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer of American Water Works Company, Inc., was the featured guest speaker and spoke about embracing diversity and practical insights into how outside counsel can distinguish themselves as top performers with their corporate clients.
Partners Marilou Watson of the firm’s Blue Bell office, Min Suh of the Philadelphia office and Darrell D. Miller of the Los Angeles office also presented to associates on “What It Takes To Survive and Thrive at Fox Rothschild.” Other members of firm leadership, including Administrative Partner Mark L. Silow, General Counsel Thomas D. Paradise and Firm Co-Chairman Abraham C. Reich, offered additional insight into how diversity of thought and background translates into successful strategies for building networks and forging connections both within the legal world and in the larger business community.
Gregory B. Williams, Co-Chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee and a partner in the Wilmington office, spearheaded the retreat and led the development of its agenda. “The retreat was an important moment in the history of Fox Rothschild,” he said. “It was the product of many years of work by myself and others on diversity issues at our firm, and I am glad that we did it. I found it very productive and hope we will continue to hold such retreats on a periodic basis going forward.”
