Fox Rothschild Reels in Privacy and Tech Duo in ChicagoMay 2, 2017 – Press Releases
Bolstering the firm’s existing depth in privacy, data security and technology transactions, Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that Daniel L. Farris and Nicole A. Poulos have joined the firm in Chicago. Farris will serve as co-chair of Fox’s Technology Practice Group.
“We are thrilled to welcome Daniel and Nicole to our growing Chicago office,” said Donna B. More, Fox’s Chicago office managing partner. “Daniel’s extensive technology background and his deep insight into the role – and risk – of data and intellectual property assets in a client’s business operations will be a significant benefit to clients locally and nationally.” Farris will augment a Privacy and Data Security practice at Fox Rothschild that was recently lauded by BTI, and strengthen the firm’s national Technology Practice.
A former software engineer and network administrator, Farris brings real-world experience to bear in counseling clients on a wide range of issues, including privacy and data security, technology and cloud-based transactions, data center and infrastructure deals, data commercialization, regulatory compliance, inbound/outbound licensing, and major transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions. He also assists clients in protecting intellectual property and proprietary information from unauthorized disclosure or use.
Farris is known as a trusted adviser to technology and telecommunication companies, health care providers, financial institutions, national retailers, professional services providers, and manufacturing clients, as well as startup, embryonic and emerging growth companies.
Farris earned his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, cum laude, in 2007, his M.S. in computer and information sciences from DePaul University in 2002 and his B.S., magna cum laude, from DePaul University in 2001.
Like Farris, Poulos, who joins Fox as an associate, focuses her practice on technology matters and has a particular fluency in cloud computing, data center and infrastructure and privacy and data security issues. She also counsels clients on protecting and defending their intellectual property rights and works with entrepreneurs and small/growth companies. She earned her J.D. from John Marshall Law School in 2012 and her B.S. from Miami University-Oxford in 2008.
Prior to joining Fox, Farris was a partner at Polsinelli, where he was chair of the Data Center & Infrastructure and Privacy & Data Security teams. Poulos was an associate in the Technology Transactions and Data Privacy Group at Polsinelli.
