Fox Rothschild Represents Real Estate Developer Prism Capital Partners in New Jersey’s Largest Office Lease Deal of 2020

August 17, 2020 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild Real Estate Department Co-Chair Robert A. Klausner represented developer Prism Capital Partners in its leasing deal with global pharmaceutical giant Eisai Inc. to relocate its North American headquarters to Prism’s 0N3 Campus in New Jersey.

Eisai Inc., an oncology- and neurology-focused pharmaceutical company and the U.S. subsidiary of Eisai Co., Ltd. based in Tokyo, is set to take over more than 300,000 square feet at 200 Metro Boulevard in Nutley. The company plans to transfer up to 1,200 employees in its Corporate and Research & Development departments in late 2021, making it the largest office tenant to date on the campus.

Prism ultimately aims to build a walkable, downtown-style environment on the mixed-use campus that includes retail, multifamily and hospitality components, along with additional office and health care users.

A Fox Real Estate team previously represented Prism in its $102 million purchase of the landmark Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. North American Headquarters and Research and Development Campus. The team shepherded complex negotiations to repurpose the 116-acre site that straddles the border between Clifton and Nutley townships. The transaction was later named the 2017 “Deal of the Year” by the New Jersey Chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.
