Expanding its service offerings in Atlanta, Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to welcome Jed Steven Beardsley as a partner in the Real Estate Department.
“Jed is a veteran commercial real estate attorney with a tax and accounting background who has helped clients structure and close sophisticated transactions in Atlanta and beyond for nearly four decades. He is a great resource for property owners and investors in all market segments, and has extensive experience navigating exchanges under Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code,” said Julie Theall Earp, Fox’s Atlanta office managing partner.
Beardsley advises clients on real estate deals including acquisitions and sales, 1031 exchanges, development, financing, construction and office, warehouse and retail leasing. He applies his extensive industry knowledge to help clients structure and plan like-kind exchange transactions, joint venture partnerships, operating agreements for LLCs as well as mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Clients also rely on his informed advice in regard to tax and estate planning, EB-5 immigrant investor financing, equity and debt capital for growth companies and title insurance needs.
In 2018, Beardsley was elected to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. He was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal in 2012 to serve on the Governor's Commission to organize the City of Brookhaven, where he also served on the Board of Zoning Appeals from 2013 to 2018. Beardsley was previously a member of the Executive Committee for the Real Estate Section of the State Bar of Georgia, and was also active on the boards of the Historic Brookhaven Neighborhood Association Inc. and the Historic Brookhaven Foundation.
Beardsley earned his J.D. and M.B.A. from Emory University, his B.A. from the University of Virginia and his CPA certificate. Prior to joining Fox, he was a shareholder at Baker Donelson. He resides in Marietta, GA.
