Fox Serves as Gaming Counsel in Transfer of Pennsylvania Casino Slot Machine License

Marie J. Jones, partner in the Gaming Department at Fox Rothschild LLP, served as gaming counsel to Washington Trotting Association, Inc., and recently completed the ownership transfer of its Category 1 Slot Machine license for Meadows Racetrack and Casino to Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc.

As part of the transaction, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and the Pennsylvania Harness Racing Commission also approved the transfer of the real estate assets to Gaming and Leisure Properties, Inc., for the Washington County, PA-based casino. Gaming and Leisure Properties paid $440 million to acquire The Meadows and Pinnacle paid $138 million to secure the gaming license and operating assets of the venue.
