An employer’s brand image can be damaged by supervisors, and even higher-level managers are determined to shape a company policy to fit their needs. In a 2007 Forbes article titled “Are Your Courting Discrimination?” about eateries that insist on maintaining gender-focused hiring standards, Carolyn Richmond cautioned employers that “Restaurateurs are playing a risky game.” Her comments bear out even three years later.
