Heather Boshak of Fox Rothschild To Receive 2009 Professional Lawyer of the Year AwardOctober 16, 2009 – Press Releases
Heather R. Boshak, a partner in the Labor & Employment Practice at Fox Rothschild LLP, has been selected by the New Jersey Women Lawyers and the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law as a recipient of a 2009 Professional Lawyer of the Year Award.
The annual awards are given to lawyers who, by virtue of their conduct, competence and demeanor, set a positive example in the profession and are respected by colleagues for their character and exemplary professional behavior. The award will be presented to Boshak at the Commission’s Professionalism Awards Luncheon on Oct. 22 at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, NJ.
In her practice at Fox Rothschild, Boshak represents employers throughout the United States in federal and state courts and in various administrative tribunals in cases alleging sexual harassment, race, national origin, gender, disability and age discrimination, breach of contract, violations of public policy and tort claims. She also handles traditional labor matters including labor arbitrations and NLRB proceedings and regularly counsels employers on compliance with various state and federal employment laws and regulations.
Among her community activities, Boshak is vice president of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association and a former board member of the Lawyers with Children Association. For the past 10 years, Boshak has participated in the George Washington Bridge Challenge Walk, benefiting the American Cancer Society.
Boshak was honored by the New Jersey Law Journal as one of its 2006 “40 Under 40” and has been selected for four consecutive years as a "New Jersey Rising Star" by New Jersey Monthly Magazine and Law & Politics Magazine.
Boshak received her J.D. from Tulane University School of Law and her B.A. from Brandeis University. She was an extern to the Honorable Martin L.C. Feldman, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, and spent several years representing individuals in employment suits prior to joining Fox Rothschild.
