Marcel L. Groen, partner in the Blue Bell office of Fox Rothschild LLP, was recently appointed by the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to serve as a Hearing Committee Member in the District II disciplinary district for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2011.

The Disciplinary Board Hearing Committees hear cases and review files concerning attorneys located within that district. After analyzing a case, they make recommendations to the board concerning attorney discipline. District II covers the eastern Pennsylvania counties outside of Philadelphia.

Active in politics in Bucks and Montgomery counties for more than 30 years, Groen is a member of the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee and is one of eight Pennsylvanians elected to the Democratic National Committee. He was named earlier this year as one of Pennsylvania’s best county chairs by PoliticsPA for his dedication to serving Pennsylvania politics as the Montgomery County Chair since 1994 and for his active role as a fundraiser, activist leader, candidate recruiter, strong manager, local politico and a statewide power.

An active member in his community, Groen serves on the Montgomery County Community College Board of Trustees and has held leadership and executive roles with the Beth Sholom Synagogue in Elkins Park, Pa., the Bucks County Jewish National Fund, ORT, the Bucks County International Trade Council, the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce, the Philadelphia Holocaust Remembrance Foundation and the Asian Federation of the United States.
