National Law Journal Names Donna More a Trailblazer in Regulatory and Compliance Work

May 1, 2018 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Donna B. More for being named to The National Law Journal’s 2018 list of Trailblazers in Regulatory and Compliance, recognizing her leadership in representing clients in two highly regulated industries – gaming and legalized cannabis

Selected from among hundreds of nominees, More received this prestigious award for her lasting impact on the gaming industry and the emerging cannabis industry. The award honors high-achieving attorneys who are making their marks in regulatory and compliance law, while demonstrating deep passion and perseverance in pursuit of their missions.

More has played a pivotal role in legalized gaming in Illinois since its inception, helping write the rules for the industry as the first general counsel of the Illinois Gaming Board. Before drafting the regulations that governed Illinois’ first foray into riverboat gaming, and advising the board on compliance, enforcement and intergovernmental affairs, she served as an assistant state’s attorney and federal prosecutor in Chicago.

Over her career she has built an impressive resume, with experience in nearly every lane open to a gaming industry lawyer – law firm owner, gaming practice founder and an in-house general counsel for a large casino company.

Now Managing Partner of Fox’s Chicago office and member of the firm’s executive committee, More provides regulatory, corporate and transaction services to a wide range of clients in Illinois and beyond. She recently expanded her practice to serve businesses in the medical cannabis sector, a natural extension of her work in gaming because of its intense regulatory oversight and entrepreneurial business culture.

More was recognized as a 2018 “Woman of Influence” by the Chicago Business Journal.

More received her J.D. from Georgetown University; her M.A. from Northwestern University and her B.A. from Tufts University.
