Robert Tintner Honored with the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Citizens Bank Achievement Award

December 9, 2020 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Robert S. Tintner, who was recognized with the 2020 Citizens Bank Achievement Award by the Philadelphia Bar Association for his dedication to pro bono activities and his commitment to improving the administration of justice in the Philadelphia legal community.

In his 26 years working with the Philadelphia Bar Association, Tintner has distinguished himself as an asset when it comes to legal ethics. He has served as Co-Chair of the Association’s Professional Guidance Committee and has personally fielded many of the calls to its Professional Guidance Ethics Hotline, which enables lawyers with ethics questions to seek guidance and advice.

Among his notable volunteer activities, Tintner works with the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program to combat the pervasive and complex problem of “tangled title issues,” which can result in owners losing their homes due to problems that arise with fraudulent conveyances, mortgage rescue schemes or failed lease purchase agreements. He has personally handled many such cases and has enlisted a legion of attorneys to join him in this effort through his annual Tangled Title training sessions.

Tintner also works with the Association’s Fraudulent Conveyance Task Force to seek to combat fraud and to restore homeownership in cases where the title to a property has been lost due to scams and forgeries. The task force includes legal services and pro bono providers, the Mayor of Philadelphia, City Council, the Recorder of Deeds and the District Attorney. Through these programs, Tintner has spent countless hours helping to coordinate the response to issues that prevent Philadelphians from owning their homes free and clear.

Within Fox, Tintner is a distinguished commercial litigator who is particularly fluent in legal ethics and mitigating disputes that arise among lawyers and law firms. He serves as Co-Chair of the nationwide Pro Bono Committee and works with attorneys throughout the firm to identify which matters to take on and ensure that the resources are available to do the work.
