U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the third woman and first woman of color to serve as Supreme Court Justice, was given the Philadelphia Bar Association’s diversity award. During her acceptance speech, she stated that inequality in education is the most pressing issue of diversity in the U.S.

Reich noted that the American Bar Association will be discussing the Supreme Court’s process for recusal, which will leave the decision of recusal up to the justices, and may undermine the confidence of the public in the Supreme Court. Reich asked if it was possible to see a change on the court regarding recusal.
