Variety has named Marc H. Simon to its prestigious 2019 Dealmakers Elite New York list, a testament to his industry leadership, and visionary representation of filmmakers, other content creators, producers, financers, artists and other talent in innovative film, television and digital projects as well as celebrity licensing opportunities.

This select list spotlights the East Coast’s leading attorneys and executives behind some of the entertainment industry’s biggest deals. Simon, vice-chair of the firm’s Entertainment & Sports Law Department, serves a diverse clientele and is an influential player in the independent film, television and digital space. This is his second consecutive year on the list.

Simon has played a pivotal role in securing a series of groundbreaking deals for clients across the documentary, episodic, narrative and talent landscapes. He negotiated Academy Award®-winner Joe Pesci’s deal to play a leading role in Martin Scorsese’s Netflix tentpole “The Irishman” and advised Atlas Productions and executive producers Kristin Lazure and Stephanie Soechtig with respect to the most lucrative documentary sale in the history of the Sundance Film Festival, “Knock Down the House.”

Variety also noted Simon’s high-profile work handling all entertainment-related deals for supermodel Adriana Lima’s “transition to brand entrepreneur” and highlighted his role in advising Alec Baldwin’s production company El Dorado Pictures on all aspects of its development, production and distribution opportunities.
