Technological advances in battery storage have significantly reduced the installed costs/MWh, making such resources a potential option to supply electricity and ancillary services in both grid-connected and behind-the-meter uses. The panel will discuss locating, permitting, environmental and regulatory considerations, as well as project incentives, cost/benefit analyses, evolving technologies and new applications for utilities, public entities and end-users. While there are more questions than answers at this early stage of commercial deployment, this program will identify issues and try to "look around the corner" at what the future may hold.
