A ruling by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court about a woman who was severely injured and whose hastily executed power of attorney was used to select retirement benefits has led to a new state law.

Known as Act 95 of 2014, this new law goes into effect January 1, 2015, and is intended to protect older residents as well as those who accept the power. Some provisions of the law, however, are already in effect.

In this podcast, Linda Rhone Enion details the case that led to the new law and highlights the changes in the Act as they impact financial institutions and agents.
