Philadelphia’s Fair Workweek Law Delayed Three MonthsDecember 4, 2019 – Alerts
Originally set to take effect on Jan. 1, 2020, the City of Philadelphia's Fair Workweek Law implementation has been postponed from Jan. 1, 2020 until April 1, 2020.
In previous alerts, we outlined the Ordinance’s key provisions and the proposed regulations published in November 2019 that, if made final, would impose significant new burdens on certain restaurant and retail employers.
Last week, the Mayor's Office of Labor issued an update that said the effective date for the Ordinance will be delayed three months and that the final regulations (which are not yet issued) will delay enforcement of the law's “good faith estimates” requirement until July 1, 2020.
