Biography

Rebecca advises domestic and international clients from various industries, including aviation, insurance, finance and manufacturing, on complex commercial litigation and arbitration issues.

She counsels and defends airlines, airport operators and developers and component part manufacturers before state and federal courts. Rebecca's commercial litigation representations also extend to corporate entities and individuals who face business torts and breach of contract issues, employment disputes and shareholder disputes. Her litigation practice also covers securities fraud and consumer fraud class actions.

Representative Experience

  • Representation of MRO in successful resolution of $6.5 million claim asserted by one of the largest commercial airline leasing companies
  • Representation of domestic and international airlines, airport operators and their insurers in complex tort matters in New York state and federal courts
  • Representation of component part manufacturer in litigation arising from airplane crash; motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction granted
  • Defense of Latvian company and individual in declaratory judgment action concerning the acquisition of a Latvian bank undergoing privatization; trial court’s denial of motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction reversed by the First Department
  • Defense of a bank against claims for breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, promissory estoppel, fraudulent inducement and violations of General Business Law Section 349; motion to dismiss granted
  • Defense of Chinese company in dispute involving "take or pay" polysilicon contracts
  • Defense of Chinese company in dispute involving construction of geothermal power plant
  • Defense of government contractor in defamation action; motion to dismiss granted
  • Defense of not-for-profit organizations in federal and state court actions alleging RICO violations and state law claims for fraud and conversion; motions to dismiss granted
  • Defense of Chinese company in arbitrations involving alleged breaches of securities purchase agreement

  • Representation of co-owner of photography studio in litigation to determine ownership and control of the business
