Dick centers his practice on taxation and business negotiation, as well as charitable and nonprofit matters and estate planning for high-net-worth individuals.
He is well-versed in all aspects of business and individual tax planning, including the income and estate tax effect of business ownership and the operation of closely held and family businesses. He has advised corporations and individuals, both lenders and debtors, on the tax and economic consequences of both insolvency and workouts to minimize tax consequences and maximize economic results.
Additionally, Dick has structured inbound foreign investments and advised foreign corporation and pension funds, as well as non-U.S. individuals planning U.S. investments. He has also worked on tax and non-tax aspects of outbound investments.
Dick represents clients in tax controversies with the Internal Revenue Service, the California Franchise Tax Board, the Office of Tax Appeals and the State Board of Equalization. He develops creative and practical solutions to business or tax issues to achieve optimal tax benefits and economic consequences. For more than five decades, Dick has tried Tax Court cases, and has helped settle tax controversies quickly and without the necessity of substantial litigation expense. He also serves as an expert witness on tax and business issues.

Dick was a founding partner of Greene Radovsky Maloney Share & Hennigh LLP, which combined with Fox Rothschild in 2021.

Dick is an honorary trustee of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and previously served for a decade as President of the museum's board.
He also serves on the board of the Koret Foundation, a private foundation based in San Francisco that is committed to strengthening the Bay Area community and nurturing the continuity of the Jewish people worldwide. Dick is also a director of the Gerson Bakar Foundation and the Hofmann Family Foundation.
Dick previously served as the Chair of the Berkeley Foundation and its Special Gift Audit Task Force. He has also been a member of the UC Berkeley Athletic Director advisory board and the advisory board of the Bancroft Library, and the board of the Fromm Institute for Lifelong Learning.
