Tim focuses his practice on corporate, environmental and utility law, with a concentration on the representation of winery and vineyard owners in the states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
He worked for over 30 years as an attorney and as a senior executive officer in the energy/utility sector. His practice now focuses on general corporate issues, transactional work, project development, mergers and acquisitions, environmental issues and utility matters.
- Transactions: Tim has represented clients in a wide variety of commercial transactions including the sale and purchase of businesses. He helped oversee the merger creating the largest combination gas and electric utility in the Northwest.
- Winery / Vineyard: Tim has particular experience with transactions involving the purchase and sale of wineries and vineyards, the formation of LLCs to own and operate wineries and vineyards, drafting and negotiating grape purchase contracts, vineyard leases, vineyard development and maintenance agreements, winery facility leases, bottling and distribution agreements, and winery environmental matters.
- Environmental Law: Tim represents clients involving multiparty hazardous waste sites and natural resource damages. He also counsels clients in matters involving insurance recovery for environmental response cost and the coordination of legal issues in complex environmental matters. He has led negotiations with local, state and federal regulatory agencies, other responsible parties and insurance carriers involving the cleanup of a $40 million Superfund site.
- Utilities: Tim represents utilities in project development, rate regulation, energy supply, mergers and acquisitions and matters involving energy policy issues. He has led the preparation of general rate cases for electric and natural gas services and represented clients in numerous rate and investigatory proceedings.
