Before Fox Rothschild
Before joining the firm, Brett was of counsel at a regional law firm where he gained experience representing creditors in Chapter 7 and 11 cases. He previously served as a Deputy Attorney General with the Delaware Department of Justice, where he acquired extensive trial experience and developed leadership skills through the management, hiring and supervision of junior attorneys. During his tenure with the Department of Justice, Brett served as a first-chair trial attorney in Delaware Superior Court prosecuting the state’s most serious and violent felony offenses, up to and including murder, to verdict. He managed a demanding, high-volume caseload, negotiated plea agreements, and made sentencing recommendations while also drafting, filing and arguing motions and briefs on a wide range of legal issues.
