Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates John Marshall Cook, who will become Chair-elect of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Construction Law beginning in August 2022. He will assume the role of Chair in 2023.

Cook is a longtime member and leader within the Forum and most recently chaired the Special Programs and Education Committee (SPEC). He has also chaired and co-chaired the Trial Academy program, which is dedicated to training young construction litigators, and served on both the Finance and Governing Committees, among other roles.

As Chair Elect, Cook’s goals are to expand initiatives to increase Forum participation, particularly for young and diverse attorneys, by showcasing the opportunities to connect, network and foster relationships with industry mentors. Through SPEC, Cook was instrumental in the development of the new Foundations of Construction Law program that will be held during his time as Chair. The Foundations program is geared to providing young lawyers or those new to construction law with the legal and technical building blocks to jump start their role as construction attorneys.

At Fox, Cook is a partner in the Construction Law Department who concentrates his practice on industrial, federal, transportation and other large civil works projects. He represents construction contractors, design firms and federal government contractors. His extensive knowledge covers a full range of complex construction issues, particularly cost and schedule analysis related to delay, disruption, inefficiency and acceleration claims.
