Odia Kagan, Partner and Chair of GDPR Compliance & International Privacy at Fox Rothschild LLP, talks to Nick Maxwell, Head of the Future of Financial Intelligence Sharing (FFIS) international research programme, to explain the U.S. Promoting Digital Privacy Technologies proposed Act.

This interview is part of a series on 'Understanding your PETs' (Privacy Enhancing Technologies) which the FFIS research programme is studying as part of a multi-year project within the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) Centre for Financial Crime and Security Studies.

In the call, Odia describes the main thrust of the Act, what the impact will be and how it might affect industry. Odia goes further to talk through potential application of the technology in the field anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing (AML/CTF) information-sharing and indicates what practitioners in AML/CTF - who are experimenting with privacy enhancing technologies to help share information - should think about as a result of this Act
