Attendees will hear from experienced practitioners in the area of bankruptcy crimes, an Assistant U.S Trustee who is experienced in prosecution of bankruptcy crime as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, and a bankruptcy judge on how trustees and their counsel can spot red flags in commercial and consumer cases; what obligations arise from such red flags and how to determine whether to dig deeper; how developed the trustee’s investigation should be before sending a referral to the U.S. Trustee; how to collaborate effectively with law enforcement; and how to navigate the competing interests that often arise once law enforcement is involved.
