The annual Outstanding Achievement Award is presented to an individual who has practiced law for 19 years or less and has made notable contributions to the legal profession. Honorees are also selected for their significant achievements outside of the legal field and involvement in Duquesne Kline School of Law.
An active member of the Duquesne University alumni community, Stoy has served in multiple leadership roles. She was on the Duquesne University Alumni Association Board of Governors from 2020-2022, and the Duquesne University School of Law Alumni Association Board of Governors from 2014-2023, including as its president for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Stoy, a Partner in our Litigation Department, is a commercial litigation attorney who serves her clients as national coordinating counsel. In this role, she advises businesses in various industries, including technology, transportation, energy, medical, and construction, on how best to protect their business interests, mitigate risk, and efficiently manage litigation cost. She also leads issues of first impression across the country involving enforcement of electronic consumer agreements, including by compelling arbitration.
Stoy serves as the Fox Rothschild representative on the Executive Board of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation’s (ACBF) Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership, which is a collaboration of legal departments, law firms and Neighborhood Legal Services (NLS) dedicated to increasing pro bono legal services to the greater Pittsburgh community. She also coordinates the firm’s participation in ACBF’s Protection From Abuse (PFA) Project. Through this initiative, a rotating group of volunteer attorneys provide pro bono representation to domestic violence victims seeking protection from abuse orders. In collaboration with NLS, Fox attorneys provide on-site assistance during the final hearing date, advocating and negotiating on behalf of clients.
