Fox Rothschild congratulates Joseph A. DeMaria, who was appointed Co-Chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Litigation Section’s Professional Liability Litigation Committee for the 2025-2026 bar year.

The Committee is a forum for litigators who litigate claims and regulatory proceedings against attorneys, accountants, directors and officers to inform themselves on recent developments and hot topics. This year, the Committee will focus on litigators’ unique role in advancing the rule of law and strengthening the public’s confidence in the legal system.

As Co-Chair, DeMaria will work to empower members of the committee to engage in thought leadership and to deliver legal educational and professional development programming to advance the profession.

A partner in the Miami office and member of the Litigation Department, DeMaria is an advocate for clients involved in high-stakes business, construction and white-collar criminal litigation disputes. A former federal prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Miami Organized Crime Strike Force who has four decades of experience leading trial teams, he is well-known for his tenacity and no-holds-barred approach to major litigation before state and federal courts.

DeMaria represents clients from wide-ranging sectors, including banking and financial services, large-scale corporate construction, international business, government entities and public school systems. He also defends individuals under investigation and subject to criminal and regulatory charges by the U.S. Department of Justice and state and federal regulators.
