Biography

Matt is a seasoned attorney who concentrates his practice in oil and gas conservation matters before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, including legislative proceedings, uncontested and contested adjudicative proceedings, and appeals from the Commission. His clients rely on his strategic counsel on conservation, pollution and enforcement matters.

Part of a team with decades of experience, Matt has a keen understanding of the time-sensitive nature of the oil and gas industry, in which drilling rigs run 24 hours a day. He takes a highly efficient, detail-oriented approach and employs proactive strategies to help clients avoid risk. When outdated rules threaten to cause costly delays, Matt assists operating companies in finding efficient solutions that clear the way for oil and gas exploration and drilling. He also advises clients on proposed energy legislation at the state level.

Matt is a frequent speaker and has been a member of the Planning Committees for the Eugene Kuntz Conference on Natural Resources Law and Policy and the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation’s Special Institute on Pooling and Utilization.
