Fox Rothschild congratulates Maureen Demarest Murray on her recognition by the Mecklenburg Times as a leader in North Carolina.

The award is part of their 50 Most Influential Women series, which spotlights those whose community service, leadership and professional achievements, exemplify “a legacy of influence and support for those who follow.”

Mecklenburg Times highlighted Murray’s leadership role overseeing a 40 Fox-attorney team that helped Cone Health become one of the founding members in Risant Health, a charitable nonprofit organization created by Kaiser Foundation Hospitals.

Murray, whose career spans four decades as a trusted legal adviser to major health care providers, serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s national Health Law Group. She represents health care providers in regulatory matters and appeals, business transactions, medical staff and peer review matters, reimbursement appeals, fraud and abuse investigations and business disputes. Clients rely on Murray to help them navigate urgent situations involving patient care and crises for their business.

She also serves as board secretary for The Arc of Greensboro, a nonprofit dedicated to helping children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through advocacy, programs and education. Additionally, Murray has volunteered with Horsepower Therapeutic Learning Center and several parent-teacher organizations in Guilford County.

“I grew up in a large, extended, supportive family that encouraged me to challenge myself in school and career, focus on family and give of my time to others and community,” Murray told the publication.
