Jose M. Jara Appointed Co-Chair of ABA Fiduciary Responsibility, Administration and Litigation Committee
Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Jose M. Jara, who was appointed to serve as Co-Chair of the Fiduciary Responsibility, Administration and Litigation Committee for the American Bar Association’s Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law. He will serve in the role for the 2021-2022 term.
The Committee focuses upon responsibility of fiduciaries under ERISA and reviews issues relating to the administration of employee benefit plans under the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA. Jara will work with the committee to monitor and provide comments to the IRS, DOL and PBGC with respect to the administration of the employee benefit laws by these agencies. The Committee also monitors litigation in the employment benefit area.
At Fox, Jara concentrates his practice on ERISA and employment litigation and counseling. including representing clients under investigation by the Department of Labor (DOL) Employee Benefits Security Administration and defending plan sponsors and fiduciaries from lawsuits alleging breach of fiduciary duty under ERISA.
He earned his LL.M. from the Georgetown University Law Center, J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his B.S. from Manhattan College.
