Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Sean P. Coyle on his selection as a 2022 Cannabis MVP by Law360, an annual distinction given to attorneys who have secured “hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.”

Coyle is recognized for facilitating Trulieve Cannabis Corporation’s (CSE: TRUL) (OTCQX: TCNNF) $2.1 billion purchase of Harvest Health & Recreation, creating the country's most profitable multistate cannabis operator.

The deal, which went from letter of intent to final in just seven months, required coordination of Fox attorneys in jurisdictions across the country. Under Coyle’s leadership, it took less than three months for the parties to sign a definitive agreement and only four more to secure the necessary regulatory approvals. The team was able to simultaneously obtain approvals in Arizona, Colorado, Maryland and Florida before nailing down approvals in the remaining states where the businesses operate.

"I was interacting with members of the firm who are scattered to the far corners of the country, all trying to accomplish all these different regulatory goals," Coyle said in an interview with Law360. "Each state has its own legal regime. You don't really get the advantage of a federal system because that is foreign to cannabis."
