Triad Business Journal Names Kip Nelson Among 40 Under 40 Honorees

Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Kip D. Nelson, who was named to the list of 40 Under 40 honorees by Triad Business Journal, which highlights current and emerging business leaders across various industries in the region.

In a Q&A with the Triad that highlighted his selection to the coveted list, Nelson spoke about his volunteer activity and shared his thoughts on retention and building connections among young professionals in the community.

Nelson is a partner in Fox’s Appellate practice who handles matters in both state and federal courts and holds a certification as an appellate specialist from the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. He has secured several victories for property owners, businesses and families in the North Carolina Supreme Court and has represented clients in a range of litigation matters involving intellectual property, product liability, employment discrimination, breach of contract and subrogation actions.

A dedicated member of the community and the legal profession, Nelson is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association's Appellate Rules Committee, which works with the Supreme Court of North Carolina to evaluate rules and propose appropriate changes. He regularly represents criminal defendants on appeal by appointment under the Criminal Justice Act and is active in the state’s appellate guardian ad litem program where he serves as appellate counsel on behalf of abused and neglected children. He was also inducted in 2018 to the Herb Falk Society, which honors members of the Greensboro Bar Association for pro bono service, and has twice been named to the North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society.

He earned his J.D., summa cum laude, and LL.M. in Law and Entrepreneurship from Duke University as well as his B.S., magna cum laude, from Brigham Young University.
