Biography
Phillip works with clients to design taxation and wealth planning strategies that help them achieve their personal and financial goals.
He assists with the creation and implementation of diverse estate planning strategies. Phillip also helps clients with the administration of estates, trusts and guardianships.
Phillip litigates fiduciary disputes, including contests of wills, judicial modifications of trusts and conflicts among trustees and beneficiaries which allows him to advise clients on tactics to prevent or mitigate potential estate and trust controversies.
Before Fox Rothschild
Phillip joined us after practicing with a boutique North Carolina firm focused on trusts, estates, and fiduciary litigation. He previously practiced at a firm in Charlotte, NC.
While earning his law degree, Phillip served as a law clerk for a boutique trusts and estates firm and as a judicial intern with the North Carolina State Court of Appeals. During law school, Phillip focused his studies on trust, estate and business succession planning. He assisted one of his law professors in updating the North Carolina Estate Administration Manual published by the North Carolina Bar Association. Phillip also held several leadership roles. He was appointed to serve as the American Bar Association Representative for Wake Forest School of Law. Additionally, he was elected to several positions within the Student Bar Association, serving at various points as vice president, treasurer and 1L representative.
While at Wake Forest School of Law, Phillip developed skills as a litigator. He served as the Chair of the Wake Forest Zeliff Trial Competition and competed on Wake Forest’s National Trial Team. Philip was one of 64 advocates nationwide selected to compete in the 2019 Tournament of Champions Trial Competition. Ultimately, Phillip’s experiences resulted in his induction to the Order of the Barristers, an honor society for law students and practicing lawyers who excel in oral, appellate and written advocacy.
Phillip was a blogger and staff member of the Wake Forest Journal of Business & Intellectual Property Law and authored an article on sale and use taxes that was published in the journal.
