Wansheng Jerry Liu Honored Among 2022 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business
Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Wansheng Jerry Liu, Ph.D., J.D., who was named a 2022 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business honoree by the Asian American Business Development Center.
Marking its 21st anniversary, the awards program highlights “a microcosm of the best of Asian American entrepreneurs, professionals and corporate executives who are engaged in a wide range of business interests, and all of whom have a role in driving the U.S. economy.”
A partner in Fox’s Intellectual Property Department and Chair of the China Practice Group, Liu handles a broad range of intellectual property, corporate and litigation matters, counseling clients regarding their IP strategies, global IP rights protection and drug development strategies. With an M.S. in polymer science, a Ph.D. in organic chemistry and a J.D., Liu has substantial industrial experience in both the U.S. and China, with a particular focus on patent prosecution of chemistry, pharmaceutical, biotech, cosmetics, material sciences and medical device-related inventions as well as FDA law and regulations.
Liu is involved in numerous community activities, serving as a volunteer in various charitable nonprofit organizations, and has provided pro bono legal services to indigent clients through the firm’s pro bono programs. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA), co-chair of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) Committee of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association, and general counsel for the University of Science and Technology of China Alumni Association of Greater New York. Liu also previously served as the SAPA President (2019-2020), Director of SAPA's Scholarship Department for many years, as well as chairman and a member of the Board of Trustees for the Huaxia Edison Chinese School and a member of the Board of Directors of Huaxia Chinese School.
