Biography
Adon is a trusted family and business adviser to individuals, businesses and family offices on a variety of wealth and tax planning matters, including corporate structure, succession planning, asset protection planning, tax planning, wills, trusts, estates and gift planning.
Adon draws on his vast experience and knowledge to support his clients’ growth personally and professionally, while always placing emphasis on the need to protect family relationships and values that mean the most.
Adon prides himself on partnering closely with his clients to understand their diverse needs. He provides corporate counsel to family-owned and closely held businesses and also has extensive experience working with high-net-worth individuals and family offices. He has engaged in complex planning and legal counsel in varying industries and locations, both nationally and internationally.
A Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), Adon often works with private companies to ensure a smooth exit for the owners through a succession plan or sale.
Before Fox Rothschild
Prior to joining Fox Rothschild, Adon was a partner at an Atlanta-based law firm for close to a decade. Before that, he honed his skills at an East Coast law firm, where he gained extensive experience in wealth preservation and captive insurance planning.
Adon began his career serving as outside counsel for family businesses in the wholesale beverage distribution industry.
Beyond Fox Rothschild
Adon grew up in Atlanta and lives there with his wife, Taryn, and three daughters. He volunteers with several educational and philanthropic organizations and is active in the Jewish community. Adon also enjoys travelling, playing golf and supporting the University of Georgia football team.
Representative Matters
- Provided longtime counsel to family creating basic estate plans, sophisticated gift and estate tax plans; guided patriarch business owner through an exit and maintained as counsel setting up family investment companies for new liquidity.
- Organized annual family meetings for a third-generation family-owned business to discuss and facilitate succession planning.
- Assisted closely held real estate development company with presale planning in order to alleviate potential tax burdens.
- Set up a family office structure for a family invested in several closely held businesses, helping them with organization, tax efficiency and succession planning.
- Created a new endowment fund for a private school, assisting with fundraising and charity goals.
- Counselled families in all facets of estate planning, assisting with the drafting of wills and the creation of a revocable and irrevocable trusts.
- Guided high net worth individuals through matters related to asset protection.
- Advised closely held real estate acquisition and development company on entity restructuring, including recapitalization of stock and the transfer of stock.
- Consulted with closely held business on the sales of stock to defective trusts, coordinating appraisals and drafting client trusts, promissory notes and other related transfer documents.
- Provided legal advice to closely held business regarding transactions and management, as well as the potential tax implications relating to such planning.
- Formed business entities for closely held companies in a variety of industries, advising on structure, governance, succession, liquidation and sale.
- Coordinated and directed board meetings for nonprofit organizations and privately held corporations.
- Counselled a restaurant partnership on the creation of holding companies and the drafting of a shareholder agreement, and then coordinating insurance planning to fund those agreements.
