Biography

A North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Family Law Specialist, Afi represents clients in a full range of family law matters. She is a compassionate problem solver who is dedicated to finding solutions for her clients.

Afi advises clients on a variety of complex legal issues related to:

  • Absolute divorce
  • Collaborative divorce
  • Equitable distribution
  • Alimony
  • Child custody and support
  • Name changes 
  • Pre/Post-nuptial agreements

Afi also has significant experience guiding clients through matters involving children, including adoptions, paternity/legitimation and international kidnapping matters.

Before Fox Rothschild

Prior to joining Fox Rothschild, Afi was a solo family law practitioner. Before that, she led the Family Law and Veterans Disability practice groups at a boutique law firm. Afi previously practiced at a global firm and at Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP, before its combination with Fox Rothschild.

She is an Air Force veteran, serving for several years as a communications computer systems analysis officer. 

Afi was a member of The Raven Society at the University of Virginia School of Law. She was also president of the Black Law Students Association, an editorial board member of the Virginia Law Review and a law clerk extern for the Honorable James H. Michael, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia.

Afi earned the Outstanding Young Women of America award while at the University of Phoenix, Southern Colorado, when studying for her M.B.A. She attended the University of Miami on an Air Force ROTC academic scholarship and was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
