Biography
Amir advises clients on the legal aspects of cybersecurity and data privacy, including compliance and incident response.
With a focus on achieving a quick resolution, Amir guides clients that have suffered a security incident from the initial incident response through restoration and recovery. He helps assess and fulfill legal obligations related to data breach notification pursuant to state and federal law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Graham-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA).
Amir is experienced with ransomware attacks and business email compromises. He coordinates with insurance carriers, digital forensics and other teams with an emphasis on minimizing disruption and ensuring a swift recovery. When necessary, he engages and negotiates with threat actors to gather intelligence and assess opportunities for reducing operational impacts to businesses. He also advises on post-incident customer communications and regulatory inquiries, aiming to avert and mitigate fines and legal action.
Amir has earned the rigorous CIPP/US credential from the International Association of Privacy Professionals and develops strategic plans to help his clients enhance cybersecurity protocols, develop incident response strategies and mitigate risks.
Before Fox Rothschild
Amir joined us from a national law firm where he provided cybersecurity incident response services for businesses. During his time at the firm, he was subcontracted to a cyber insurance carrier where he practiced in-house as claims counsel. He is also a former assistant prosecutor for the Camden (NJ) County Prosecutor's Office and Amir has also worked at a boutique law firm.
