Fox Rothschild welcomes Ruth Vafek to the Minneapolis office as a partner in the Labor & Employment Department.

“Ruth has in-house experience as an HR consultant for a California tech company, in the restaurant industry and in government. With this background, she understands the numerous constraints and variables that businesses manage every day,” said Andrew S. Hansen, Fox’s Minneapolis Office Managing Partner. “Ruth will be an asset to our clients nationwide.”

An experienced employment lawyer, Vafek helps businesses identify, prevent and resolve workplace issues to minimize litigation risk. She also defends employers in individual and class actions and regulatory enforcement actions.

In her practice, Vafek:

• Drafts employment agreements, employee handbooks and human resources policies and nondisclosure/confidentiality agreements.
• Leads internal investigations, advises employers, and resolves employee complaints and grievances.
• Represents employers and executive level employees in connection with restrictive covenants, such as noncompete agreements.
• Defends employers in litigation involving Title VII, ADA, ADEA and FCRA claims.

Vafek earned her J.D. from Santa Clara University and her B.A. from Goucher College.
