Fox Rothschild congratulates Colleen McGarry, who was named to the 2024 list of Notable Diverse Leaders in Law by the Twin Cities Business Magazine.

The list highlights those whose “contributions go well beyond their legal practices to include pro bono work, a commitment to community service, professional mentorship, and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

Noted as a “forceful voice for diversity and an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights,” McGarry serves as chair of Fox’s LGBTQ+Allies Network. Under her leadership, the firm received four consecutive perfect scores on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, which also listed the firm as one of the best places to work for LGBTQ equality.

A leader in the firm, McGarry has coordinated the Minneapolis office’s participation in events with groups such as the Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association, the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers, the Minnesota Lavender Bar Association, and more.

McGarry is a skilled litigator whose practice centers on complex business and commercial disputes. She represents financial institutions, insurance companies, property owners, developers, landlords, equipment lessors and other corporate entities. Her experience includes bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings involving hotels and residential and commercial development projects. McGarry also advises commercial real estate owners on a variety of real estate tax matters. She works with clients to reduce real estate tax liabilities and resolve disputes with taxing authorities in Minnesota and across the country.

She is a member of the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association Diversity Committee, the Minnesota Lavender Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association.
