Co-op and Condo Virtual Law Series - How to Handle Accommodation Requests: Dogs, Ramps and More
Share on:
Under City, State and Federal Law, persons with disabilities may ask for accommodations. This may include a shareholder/owner request for an exemption to a no-dog policy, or a request for the Board to build a ramp at the entrance of the building. We review how the Board should handle such requests, and we will discuss the problems that result from rejecting such requests without the proper consideration of the needs of the shareholder/owner.
