Outside general counsel will provide practical insights into the financial acumen board members need to govern with effective oversight and fulfill their fiduciary duties. The discussion will focus on strengthening directors’ ability to understand financial statements, debt and investment terms, profit and loss, and tax and tax mitigation strategies.

This session is designed to help private company directors engage critically with financial reports, ask informed questions, assess organizational financial health, and confidently evaluate and approve management’s financial strategies in alignment with the company’s best interests.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Strengthen financial literacy by interpreting financial statements, debt and investment terms, profit and loss, and tax considerations relevant to private company governance.
