Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that Kirsten B. White was named Co-Chair of the firm’s Education Law Department, effective July 1.

The issues facing educational institutions has grown from student discipline and simple governance to encompass school violence, drug testing, laws governing Internet use, planned giving, complex financing arrangements, construction and capital projects, deferred compensation and sophisticated labor and employment issues.

White has significant experience providing labor and employment counsel to educational institutions, from independent schools to colleges and universities. She advises on school operations, including responding to and investigating alleged student misconduct; employment and governance matters; student health and safety issues; collective bargaining and National Labor Relations Act compliance as well as crisis management.

White joins Co-Chair Jeffrey T. Sultanik, who concentrates his practice on personnel and labor relations for municipal and school entities.

“I have the utmost respect for Jeff and am honored to have the opportunity to co-lead the education group with him,” said White. “I look forward working together to grow and shape the future of the department.”

The duo will lead the department, which consists of a multidisciplinary team of attorneys who offer clients a wide range of services for public and private school districts as well as higher education representation.

“Kirsten is a recognized authority on labor and employment law who has extensive experience guiding educational institutions of all sizes through the unique challenges they face,” said Sultanik. “I’m thrilled to have her join me as co-chair to collaborate and expand the comprehensive suite of services we offer our clients in the education sector.”
